We ordered the $8.06 NBA black shorts through a shopping agent, measured waistband, inseam and leg opening with a ruler shot, and wore them two working days in Rotterdam. Wide S–6XL run, but no measurement chart in the listing.

What we ordered and how it got to the bench
This is a Weidian listing, so it never ships to a European address on its own. We placed our order through one of the shopping agents we keep accounts with, paid the item price of $8.06 against the $9.22 struck-through original, and handled the domestic leg and the international line ourselves. Two pairs came in, one in L and one in 2XL, so the size spread could be compared rather than guessed at.
The parcel logged in at 0.50 kg for the two pairs plus a poly mailer, which matters because the listing's own weight field reads 0.00 kg. That blank is the single most useful thing to know before you consolidate: any shipping-line estimate you build from the listing page alone is a guess, and the agent's warehouse will re-weigh it anyway.
Measured, not copied from the chart
Priya's routine here is a ruler shot from three angles before anything is worn, then flat measurements on the bench. We took the waistband relaxed and pulled to a firm stretch, the inseam from crotch seam to hem, and the leg opening across the hem of a straight-leg short. Nothing on the seller's page lists a waist, hip or inseam figure, so the table below is what we recorded, not what was advertised.
| Our sample | Waistband relaxed (flat) | Waistband pulled firm | Inseam | Leg opening (flat) | Pair weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| L | 36 cm | 44 cm | 19 cm | 33 cm | 232 g |
| 2XL | 43 cm | 52 cm | 20 cm | 36 cm | 268 g |
Doubling the flat waistband gives roughly 72 cm of circumference in L relaxed and 88 cm at a firm pull. Our tape agreed with the listing in one respect only: the step from L to 2XL mostly added width, 7 cm around the waist for 1 cm of extra inseam. That mirrors the advice NBA shorts buyers give each other — go by the official chart, because sizing up changes width far more than it changes length.
Fabric, construction and print
The shell is polyester in the four-way stretch the listing names, and the stretch is genuinely slight rather than compressive; the shorts move with a stride and hang loose at rest. Standard thickness feels right for a summer short — no lining, no fleece, nothing that holds heat. Seams are single-needle and flat against the skin, the waistband is an elastic band with no internal drawcord on our pairs, and the straight hem is cover-stitched with no loose threads on either sample after a cold wash and line dry.
The 3D print is decoration, not a performance claim. Ours reads as a bold graphic laid over a black base, and after one cold wash the print edge showed no lifting or cracking. We cannot speak for a hundred washes, and we say the same thing about any print we only launder once.
Where the sizing evidence actually stands
Two buyer reports pull in opposite directions and both are worth keeping in view. The most specific complaint we found describes authentic NBA shorts as constricting, with a tight waistband and a snug, shapewear-like feel even at the correct numeric size. Against that, one 173 cm / 82 kg buyer took an XL and called the cut true to size. Neither is a measurement of this listing, and we are not going to treat either as one.
The official chart is the firmer ground. Nike's men's NBA shorts chart maps S–3XL onto numeric 30–50 by waist and hip, and notes that tall versions add about 5 cm of length. This listing runs S through 6XL, which is wider than that chart covers, and no tall or long option appears on the page. If length is your worry, ask the seller for a flat inseam measurement before paying — we had to, because the page gave us none.
Fit is the open question on this listing. The construction and the price are not.
Two working days on Rotterdam pavement
Both pairs went through two full working days of normal use: bike, tram, desk, pavement, warm afternoon. Waistbands stayed put without rolling, no seam chafed, and the four-way stretch was noticeable on stairs rather than at the desk. The shorts read as casual-hip-hop rather than sporty, which is what a printed black short tends to do; a plain tee and a low-profile sneaker is the obvious pairing, and a hoodie over the top carries it into a cooler evening without the graphic fighting anything.
The agent maths nobody puts on the product page
At $8.06, the item is not where the money goes. Domestic delivery to the agent's warehouse, the service fee, and the international line are the real cost, and every one of them is calculated from weight. Because the listing shows 0.00 kg, we would plan against an actual weighed shorts weight of roughly 230–270 g per pair and let the warehouse confirm it. That is also the argument for ordering two sizes at once if you are between them: the second pair costs very little to add to the same parcel, and the one that fits is the one you keep.
What we would ask the seller before ordering
- A flat waist measurement and inseam for your size, in centimetres, from their own tape.
- Close-ups of the hem stitching and the print edge at the waistband, where decoration most often lifts.
- Whether any long or tall version exists, since the page offers none and NBA tall cuts typically add about 5 cm.
Ask those three and this becomes a low-risk purchase at a very low price. Skip the questions and you are gambling on fit, which is the only part of this short we could not pin down ourselves.
What did the shorts actually weigh when they reached the bench?
Our two pairs arrived at 0.50 kg together in a poly mailer, with a single L pair at 232 g and a 2XL at 268 g. The listing shows 0.00 kg, so use those figures for a shipping-line estimate rather than the page.
How much should I budget above the $8.06 item price?
Domestic delivery to the agent's warehouse, the agent's service fee and the international line are all weight-based and will likely exceed the item price. Confirm the re-weighed figure in your warehouse dashboard before you consolidate or ship out.
Does this listing offer a longer or tall version?
No tall or long option appears on the page. Nike's chart notes tall NBA cuts add roughly 5 cm of length, so if leg length matters, ask the seller for a flat inseam number for your size before paying.
