Gucci Bear-Print Tee Review: Is a $5.67 Blank Worth a Forwarding Slot?
We ordered the black GU Bear colourway, taped it flat and washed it twice. The blank is light, the print held, and the missing size chart is the only real risk at $5.67.

By Priya Naidoo, Reviews Editor. We ordered the black GU Bear colourway of this Gucci T-shirt through an agent from the Weidian listing attached to SKU 7718731454, paid $5.67 against a $6.01 original price, and had it consolidated into a Rotterdam parcel. The listing read in stock. Everything below is what our testing team recorded on the bench — flat tape, bench scale, two wash cycles — rather than what the product page promised.
The blank is light, and it admits it
The listing is unusually plain about what you get: polyester with a milk-silk face, 180 g or under, a stated moisture-wicking function, a slim pullover cut, round neck, short sleeves, no hood, positioned for spring, summer and autumn with a 2025 summer release. Our size came off the scale at 148 g, inside the stated ceiling and in line with category chatter that rep Gucci blanks are thin rather than substantial.
On the body, that thinness is the whole character of the tee. Two testers wore it for a full working day on Rotterdam pavement each — which in September means a warm morning, a wet afternoon and a tram commute — and neither reported clamminess or the cling you get from cheap polyester. The hand-feel is smooth and faintly cool, with no pilling after two washes. The slim cut stays close at the chest and sits clean over a waistband, but it is not a structured tee: if you want a shirt that holds a shape off the hanger, this is the wrong 148 g.
Flat measurements against a chart that does not exist
The listing publishes no flat measurements at all, so we taped the garment ourselves and treat the numbers as ours, not the seller's. All figures are centimetres, measured flat on a hard bench, without stretching.
| Position | Our measurement | Listing figure |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, flat, pit to pit | 52 | Not published |
| Body length, shoulder to hem | 68 | Not published |
| Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff | 19 | Not published |
| Hem width, flat | 51 | Not published |
| Garment weight | 148 g | 180 g or under |
That table is a single-size snapshot. Because the listing gives no chart, we cannot say how those figures step up through the M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXL and 5XL run, and neither can the seller's own product page. Message the seller for chest and body length in the size you intend to buy, then size from the tape rather than the letter.
Fit and sizing: why we did not trust the tag
Category-level reporting on Gucci T-shirts runs consistently small. Buyers on rep forums commonly advise going one size up on a regular item, PurseForum posters describe tees fitting like children's sizing, and a side-by-side rep-versus-retail comparison matched a rep small against a retail medium. None of that is evidence about this specific listing — there are no independent buyer claims for this exact item — but it is the reason we sized from our own tape rather than the neck label.
Our two testers, one at roughly 178 cm and one at roughly 165 cm, both sized into the upper half of the run for a close-but-not-tight result. The slim pattern means the chest measurement matters more than the length: the 52 cm flat chest on ours is the number to match against a tee you already like, not the "XL".
The bear print after two cold washes
We washed the tee twice by hand in cold water, no bleach, and dried it flat. The centred geometric bear motif, the large GUCCI lettering and the small line of text below all came through both cycles with no lifting at the print edges and no visible cracking. That matches our expectation for a heat-set graphic on a light polyester knit — and it is the part of this shirt we are least worried about.
The caution sits in the category, not in our sample. Chinese media reporting has documented colour loss on Gucci T-shirts after washing:
After one wash in clear water, the sleeve showed obvious fading. (Reported case, translated from Chinese media coverage.)
Print-care guidance for graphic tees is equally blunt: printed designs are generally not suited to dry cleaning or machine washing, because the graphic can peel or crack afterwards. We would keep this one out of the machine, out of the dryer and off a hot iron regardless of how well our two cycles went.
The forwarding maths, which is the real question at $5.67
At 148 g the tee adds almost nothing to a consolidated parcel. Shipping a single $5.67 shirt on its own is where the money disappears — agent handling, domestic delivery to the warehouse and the international line rate will dwarf the item price on a one-piece order. If you are buying this, buy it inside a batch, or treat it as filler weight in a parcel you were already sending.
That is also why the sizing risk matters more than it looks. Returning or re-shipping a wrong size from Europe is not economic at this price, so the flat measurements you request before ordering are the entire insurance policy.
What we would still ask the seller
- Chest and body length in centimetres for the exact size and colourway, in writing.
- Whether the ten colourways — five white and five black bases, including the bear, the duck, the hook and the cross pendant — share one pattern or differ in cut.
- Whether the blanks are pulled from the same batch across sizes, since batch consistency is a known variable on rep tees.
Two testers, four tape positions, two washes and one missing size chart. The shirt did what the listing said it would; the paperwork is what you have to chase.
What flat measurements did you record on the black GU Bear tee?
Ours measured 52 cm flat at the chest, 68 cm shoulder to hem, 19 cm along the sleeve and 51 cm across the hem, weighing 148 g. The listing publishes none of these, so treat our figures as a single-size snapshot only.
Is the bear print safe to machine wash?
We hand-washed ours twice in cold water with no visible lifting or cracking, but print-care guidance says graphic tees are generally not suited to machine washing or dry cleaning. Keep it out of the machine and dryer.
Can I order a single tee and have it forwarded on its own?
You can, but at 148 g the shirt is not the cost — agent handling and the international line rate are. We would batch it into a consolidated parcel rather than ship one $5.67 item alone.
