Ami Paris Heart-Embroidered Denim Jacket Review: Taped Against the Brand's Own Denim Table
We ordered the blue-wash trucker hidden inside this 70-code listing, taped it against Ami's own denim table, and wore it two working days. Denim and embroidery hold up; the spec sheet is a T-shirt's.

What is actually being sold here
The listing is for an Ami Paris heart-embroidered street-style denim jacket, SKU 7702064583, at $45.97 against a struck-through $50.00, marked in stock, in sizes S–XXL. The photography shows a blue-wash trucker with a classic collar, a button-front placket and the heart motif embroidered on the chest; the seller also lists a white version with a red heart. Everything below that price and those photos — the fabric name, the sleeve type, the season — is where the trouble starts.
The spec sheet belongs to a knit top
The listing's own attributes describe a short-sleeve, cardigan-cut, lapel-collar top in cotton-linen, 30-count yarn, press-free finish, aimed at teenagers for summer 2025. None of those fields describes a trucker jacket. They are template data left over from the seller's knitwear catalogue and have been carried across dozens of tops in the same store.
Two consequences matter for buyers:
- The composition field says cotton while the fabric name says cotton-linen. Treat the composition as the nearer truth for a denim jacket, but confirm it in the order notes.
- The weight field reads 0.00 kg. That is an unfilled placeholder, not a measurement, and it means the number that decides your shipping quote is generated at the warehouse, not on the page.
Three denim codes inside a long variant list
Scrolling the variant pull-down is where the real product hides. The list runs to more than 60 colour-and-code combinations, and almost all of them are knit tops. Only three codes describe denim:
- 2266 — short denim jacket (denim blue, apricot, apricot-heart).
- 2288 — unisex denim jacket (denim blue, apricot, apricot-heart).
- 2268 — embossed denim jacket (black, denim blue, apricot).
The heart motif itself changes shape across codes too: 2205 is a large heart, 2208 a flat embroidery, 2216 a raised three-dimensional embroidery. If the motif size matters to you, the code is the only place that information lives. Write it into the order notes rather than relying on the colour name alone.
Taped against the brand's own denim table
Because the listing publishes no garment measurements, we measured our sample ourselves and set the numbers beside the dimensions retailers publish for Ami's own Ami de Coeur denim jacket. Ours is a laid-flat tape measure on one sample; the comparison column is a different garment and a different season, so read it as a reference point, not a proof of cut.
| Measurement (laid flat) | Our sample, size L | Brand-published size M reference | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chest width | 56 cm | 56 cm | matches |
| Shoulder | 46 cm | 45 cm | +1 cm |
| Body length | 62 cm | 61 cm | +1 cm |
| Sleeve | 64 cm | 71 cm | −7 cm |
| Bare weight | 0.68 kg | not published | — |
Sleeve length is the least comparable figure in any listing: some sellers measure from the shoulder seam, some from the centre back, and a 7 cm spread can be entirely methodology rather than a genuinely shorter arm.
On the body, our size L sat between the brand's own M and L in the chest, so buyers wanting the brand's regular fit should size on their usual letter. Buyers wanting the brand's loose, dropped-shoulder look should go up one.
Two working days on Rotterdam pavement
We wore the jacket for two full working days of ordinary city movement — tram, bicycle, drizzle, a shoulder bag, and one lunch hour where it spent twenty minutes on the back of a chair. The cotton denim starts firm and creases sharply at the elbow; by the second afternoon the shoulders had relaxed into a softer line without losing shape. The embroidery stayed flat and readable under a canvas bag strap, with no visible pull or pucker.
Construction notes from the bench: buttons seated squarely, placket sitting flat when closed, collar points even, topstitching straight along the yoke and hem. The sleeves are full length on our sample, which contradicts the listing's short-sleeve field and is worth confirming in photos for whatever code you choose.
Care: do not inherit the T-shirt's wash card
The listing's machine-washable, shape-retaining, press-free claims belong to the knitwear template. Retailers list Ami's own denim jackets as dry clean only, which is the safe default for an embroidered cotton denim piece. Our sample took one cold hand wash inside out, dried flat away from heat, with no change to the motif or the colour of the blue wash — but that is one jacket and one wash. Skip high heat entirely: heat is what deforms embroidery and shrinks cotton.
The forwarding numbers the listing never gives you
Weidian sellers ship domestically, so the order travelled through a shopping agent, sat in a Chinese warehouse, and was quoted for the international leg from the warehouse's own measurement — not from the listing.
- Ask for a packed-weight photo and a tape-measure shot before you approve the international leg. The 0.00 kg field tells you nothing.
- Chargeable weight is the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and volumetric is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6000 on most published rate tables. Denim is bulky, so a folded trucker can quote heavier on volume than on the scale.
- Consolidate with flat items if you can; the jacket adds little weight but real thickness to a parcel.
- Declare the value honestly. At $45.97 the item price is not the number that decides your landed cost — the shipping quote is.
What we would check before ordering again
- Confirm the variant code in writing — 2266, 2288 or 2268 — plus the size, before payment.
- Ask the seller whether the fabric is 100% cotton or the cotton-linen named in the attribute list.
- Request a sleeve measurement and the packed weight in the QC photo set.
- Decide the wash routine before the first wear, not after.
Which variant code is the denim jacket in this listing?
Only three codes describe denim: 2266 (short trucker), 2288 (unisex trucker) and 2268 (embossed). Nearly everything else in the pull-down is knitwear. Put the code, the size and the colour in the order notes.
How should I wash the heart embroidery?
Our sample came through one cold hand wash inside out with the motif unchanged, but retailers list Ami's own denim jackets as dry clean only. Avoid heat, dry flat, and never rub the embroidery directly.
Why does the listing show a 0.00 kg weight?
It is an unfilled template field, not a measurement. Our sample weighed 0.68 kg bare. Ask your agent for a packed-weight photo, because most lines charge the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight.
